If your planning on playing a Medic, the best setup by far is the M-60 with Magnum Ammo, the Medkit extender, and carrying a Tracer Dart.
Anytime you hit a new area just go ahead and drop you medkit right where your standing as long as your squads within about 15 yards you'll start auto healing. Another thing to remember is that in everygame type (save deathmatch) you get your tickets back for reviving allies so do your best to pick up everybody you can. Even you you get dropped everynow and then the people you pick up will WAY outweigh the number of deaths you will have.
